Manuel Álvarez-Fuentes

Industrial Designer from Universidad Iberoamericana (1971), Master of Design / Royal College of Art, London (1975).
Born in Mexico D.F. 1948.

Practice in product development, furniture, interior design, signage and visual communications, corporate image and space planning.

Director of Industrial and Graphic Design at Universidad Iberoamericana, 1978 to 1982, founder of the Industrial Design career at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana Xochimilco in 1977. Currently an advisor to the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Autonomous University of Queretaro and Chair Professor at ITESM Campus Querétaro.

Founding Member of the College of industrial and graphic designers in Mexico. Coordinator of several international workshops of design in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Korea, Cuba and Lebanon. Founding Member of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) for Mexico and Latin America. Braun Prize Jury Mexico in 2005 and 2007, the Fourth Biennial Ceramic Utility Franz Mayer Museum and the Red Dot 2008, Berlin, Germany 2009 and 2010.
